Mummy: The first school term has come to an end. I received a progress report for Schuyler too. On the very first page, indicating the particulars with a small thumbprint, so small and cute. But can't see the fine details of the print as I think the print is not those meant for thumbprint.

Mummy: I was busy with some washing at the kitchen. Then I spotted Schuyler demostrating on how I usually wash clothes. I asked him to demo again so I can take photos of the actions. Cute isn't it?

Mummy: Wanted to take photos for Schuyler on his first day of school but forgot. And finally I remembered to take it today. It's quite cute to see such a small boy wearing school uniform. And recently whenever I told Schuyler "take photo", he will try to "cheese" with "V" sign. End up I couldn't see his eyes opening.

Mummy: Initially I took these photos wanting to show how big his tummy is. Looks pregnant but end up the focus is on the balloon, he bite on the balloon and it burst.

Mummy: I believed childcare do allow Schuyler to watch Barney and Elmo shows.. as he recognize Barney and Elmo. Not only that, he also recognize cars and he will say "vroom vroom"... I showed him the toyrus booklet and asked him to point out Barney, Elmo and cars to me. He can do it.

When I say/scold him and he is unhappy, he will lie down flat on his stomach on the floor and cry. He will refused to stand/sit up until I really go and carry him up. How to educate him??

Quit Pacifier

Mummy: I was amazed by how Schuyler managed to quit his habit of "eating" pacifier.
I went to ask his Teachers at the childcare to find out how they manage to do it. End up they ask me about it. And the story goes....

Long ago I attached a clip to the pacifier so that I can attached the pacifier to his clothing. Recently he have the habit of pulling the clip when he know that it's attached to his clothing so I might as well remove the clip. After I remove the clip, Schuyler don't recognize it as his pacifier so he refused to have his pacifier. And this is how he quit!! Amazing right? It took less than 1 day :P

Mummy: Whenever I asked Schuyler a question, he will reply either by nodding or shaking his head. He is not able to speak yet but he do understand most of the things I tried to tell him.

Mummy: It's dinner time and I will feed Schuyler together when I'm having my dinner. Taught him how to say "谢谢" and he managed to say it out. But he is very lazy, he stopped saying after that one time and even refused to eat if I want him to say 谢谢. I have got no choice but to give in to him.

Mummy: Teachers commented that Schuyler is clever, just that he don't know how to talk. But he will give instructions like pointing here and there. E.g. the cleaning aunty was cleaning Fan A and Schuyler point Fan B to her and ask her to clean Fan B as well... what a smart boy to give instructions..hahaa

Mummy: Schuyler always cry very badly when we bring him to the barber. I wonder is it because all the time Daddy was the one carrying him? But I don't wish to get my clothes dirtied so I din want to carry him. Maybe next time I should sacrifice...

Mummy: We were at my grandma (Schuyler's great grandma) house and while snacking, I asked Schuyler to go around sharing the food with the rest. But he is only willing to share and feed his own grandpa (which is my dad). I told him to feed ahma, he will walk to grandpa instead.

Mummy: I realised Schuyler has alot of little actions and one of it is.. he will cover his mouth and laugh. He will tilted his head and look at me, smiling away. His motor actions are definitely picking up much faster as compared to Chloe.

Mummy: I was using the PC while the kids are behind me on their table. I turned my head behind to do a spot check and I saw Chloe was holding onto a pair of scissors and she is trying to trim Schuyler's hair! Before I can voice out anything, I saw strands of hair falling. I'm too late. I happen to snap some photos before that, confirm you can spot the difference.

I questioned Chloe how come she went to take the scissors and trim didi's hair. She thought that pair of scissors is just a toy (plastic scissors). Lesson learnt, must always keep scissors out of reach from kids.

Mummy: Schuyler tried to walk when I hold onto his hands. When I let go, he wanted to give up and sit down. I told him he need to try to walk on his own, so he hold my hands and try to walk again. He is able to walk and he smiled to me.

Mummy: I felt that Schuyler's palms were slightly warm. I touched his forehead but it seems normal. So I thought I'm thinking too much. Later at night, I took the thermometer to take his temperature and he is having fever. I quickly fed him with paracetamol. Surprisingly he is willing to eat. After that I gave him milk and he fell asleep shortly

Crying for 3 days

Mummy: As Daddy is reporting for work, I had to ask my aunt to help me to fetch the kids from childcare. Schuyler find my aunt unfamiliar hence for the first few days he cried whenever my aunt went to fetch him. Luckily he managed to settled with my aunt after that.

Mummy: Schuyler is quite cranky and grouchy these days. Halfway in his dreamland, he was yelling, screaming and shouting. And I don't think he is having nightmare. I guess it's really due to the teething.

Mummy: Schuyler is trying hard to stand on my bed. He managed to stand on my bed 3 seconds without support. Whenever I'm sitting on my bed with him, he will tend to crawl towards me and want me to give me support to stand up and he will try to balance and stand by himself.

Mummy: These days Schuyler always can't finish his milk. For 210ml of milk, he will left with 50ml of milk remaining. checked with his teachers at school but they said he can finish all his milk. Teacher Julie says it could be due to teething. At night I did a check and spotted a tooth is coming out from his top gum.

Mummy: I just reach home, greeted by Chloe and Schuyler who were playing in the living room. I walked into my room to wash my feet and then to change into shorts. Schuyler was crawling and "complaining" from living room all the way to my room. He wanted to look for me. Well, you can tell how sticky he is towards me. And another thing is, his crawling skills have improved tremendously. Picking up a new skill really depends very much on the motivation and determination.

Mummy: Schuyler can self feed with some kind of help. He can feed himself with xiao man tou, but only managed to bite bits of it. He didn't manage to pop the whole piece into his mouth. But strangely he can feed himself very well with baby bites.

Schuyler managed to hold on to his bottle for around 1min. But when I ask him to hold, he will let go. It's like when no one notice or really look at him, then he will attempt to hold the bottle again.

Milestones for 17 Apr 2008

Mummy: Schuyler can stand up with the support on his own. He also can crawl forward a few steps but at this stage he is still quite reluctant to crawl unless he is in good mood. He sat on the mat and play on his own for 1hour. I find that it's really amazing. He played with the toys until he's bored and he will crawl to reach for other toys.

After that he crawled to the coffee table and tried to stand up with the help from "coffee table". He lose his balance and sat down on the floor. Displease Schuyler lean toward, thinking he was far away from the coffee table but end up he knock his forehead onto the coffee table. And... he lost his balance and fell backwards, his head knocked onto the floor. Double impact. Poor him, but this is part of his growing up. I won't want him to rely on me too much. 自己跌到自己爬!

Fever

Mummy: Teacher called to inform me that Schuyler is running a fever. Fever again. I think it's either a viral fever or due to teething. Sighh...

Car rides

Mummy: Schuyler enjoys car rides, not the real car, it's the $1 car rides. This is his first attempt on the car rides. Initially he was abit shocked when the car started moving. After a short while he find it enjoyable so he became excited by "jumping". Probably it's because he's a boy, he tends to like cars very much. Now to save $, we will try to find a car with 2 steering wheels so that both of them get to play with it.

Mummy: Teacher called to inform me that Schuyler is running a fever, 38 deg at 3pm. They will feed him with paracetamol and monitor his condition. And all the cough, flu came along with this fever. I know falling sick is very common especially he is taken care by the infant care but I still just feel worried that he always fell sick.

Mummy: Schuyler likes to sit onto the walker as he can move around as he like. I would say he's quite fast on "walking" on walker. The first time when he sit on walker, I can see that he don't know how to make himself move or the most moved backwards. And the second time I see that he can move forward already.

Mummy: My dad introduced this game to Schuyler. It's actually just to say "knock head" and knock gently onto Schuyler's head. And I'm surprised when I got back home and tested him on this game, he still remembers this game. When I said "knock head", he actually lean his head towards mine!

I'm 5mths old today. Daddy & Mummy brought me to Marina Square to see Barney. But who is Barney? I'm not interested. Anyway just a photo of me to show how I look like when I'm 5mths old.

Daddy and Mummy each bought me a top. I'm growing bigger so they have to get bigger top for me. Though I'm just 5mths old, the clothes they bought for me are meant for 12-18mths old baby.

My First Overseas Trip (19-22 Nov)

Mummy: Brought the kids for a short trip to Genting. We drove up and luckily Schuyler and Chloe were quite manageable during the 4 to 5hours of car ride. To summarise, I know Schuyler didn't had much fun as he was still too young for the rides etc. But he should enjoyed himself by having me to look after him 24hours round the clock for 8 days. Let the photos do all the talking.. :)

My First Sentosa Trip

Daddy & Mummy brought me and 姐姐 to Sentosa Palawan Beach today. And of cos I didn't had much fun at all as I was still too young. Mummy tried to let me dip inside the water but I cried cos it was so cold. So end up Mummy had to bring me back to the pram, and she and Daddy had to take turns to look after me and 姐姐.

I'm BOTAK!!! Daddy and Mummy brought me to shave my head... I look so super chubby and like a monk now! My head looks very round hor?? Alot of aunties crowd around the barber shop and look at my shaving head process. Why they so KPO??? In order not to disappoint them, I din cry but I try to put on a smile throughout the whole shaving head process.

Mummy: After passport collection we went to Bugis Junction for shopping. Daddy bought quite a few stuffs. While Daddy went to queue up for payment, he spotted that Schuyler's romper is dirtied, asked me if someone has accidental spilled coffee onto his romper. The only thing that came onto my mind is he passed motion!! I quickly brought him to the changing room inside Seiyu.
To my horror, his romper is very stained with shit!!! If the legs/thighs area kena stained, I can understand, but the thing is even his waist area also kena.. and he was all along sitting in the pram, yes sitting, not lying down at all. I asked hubby, can I just throw the romper away.. anyway it's already tight fitting+ so damn dirty. But hubby said, "Ralph Lauren leh, you want to throw away meh?"

Anyway I lost count how many pcs of wet wipes I used. I went to the basin and try to wash the romper, put hand soap and rubbed the romper. At least it don't stink, but left with some stains. Got to go home then wash more thoroughly.

Passport collection

Mummy: Daddy took off day to bring Schuyler to collect his passport. I metup with Daddy and Schuyler after my work, had a fast lunch then we proceed to ICA building for passport collection. There's 126 people in the queue, so many people. But luckily we only waited for about 1hr. The officer just want to see Schuyler's face, I thought need Schuyler's thumbprint to be saved inside the chip found inside Biometric passport. But no need, it's just like the past passport. But the passport photo turned out to be black and white colour instead.

The malay lady who served us asked how we pronounce Schuyler's name as she never came across this name before. Hubby's fault again, he wanted unique spelling.. :|

Mummy: Teacher Hasna told me that Schuyler tends to be choosy and only certain Teachers can carry/feed him. She said older infants tend to be choosy, they have their own preferred Teachers. But Schuyler is far too young to be choosy. There's one particular Teacher which Schuyler don't like and that teacher is Teacher Imah. He cried when she tried to carry/feed him.

Mummy: Schuyler had his first flip done at a friend's house. I wasn't able to witness it cos I was attending to Chloe. Hubby placed Schuyler on the sofa while he was watching dvd. Then when he was doing a spotcheck on Schuyler, he realised Schuyler had already flipped on the sofa. Bravo boy!

6-in-1 Vaccination (2nd jab)

Mummy: It's time to bring Schuyler for 2nd jab. Daddy applied for child sick leave and brought Schuyler to the clinic. During the injection, Schuyler cried but not for long.

Mummy: Schuyler can flip over when I put him lie down sideways. Teachers said he's very strong and always want to lift up his head and body. Mummy: Today Teacher Wei Wei commented that Schuyler has grown fatter and upon hearing this Schuyler cried very loud. I din know Schuyler is such a petty boy, can't take such comments :P

Shopping @ Bugis

Mummy: Today we went to Bugis for shopping. We were in the lift, then a primary school boy came into the lift with his parents. Schuyler smiled very happily to the boy, the boy just gave him a shock + blur look ("Why you smile to me so happily???").

Heads up

Mummy: I put Schuyler to lie down on his stomach. He's trying very hard to lift up his head. I have to give him such training occasion to train the muscles at his neck area.

From this pix, I really can tell he has put in all effort to lift up his head.

I'm 3mths old today. Teacher Hasna said she hasn't seen me for few days and I have suddenly grown so big. She also said my nose doesn't look that sharp as before cos my face has become more chubby.

Watching TV

Mummy: I was busy with housework so I put Schuyler at the rocker facing the TV, hoping the TV can entertain him abit. Well, he really enjoyed himself cos he was responding to the TV, talking non-stop!

Mooncake Festival

This is my first Mooncake Festival celebration but I'm too young to celebrate. I can't even hold on to a lantern. Although grandma bought me a lantern, it was too girlish for me. :P So I let 姐姐 play with it. Looking at 姐姐 playing with Riko they all, I felt so bored. I can't join in the fun with them. :(

Increase in milk intake

Mummy: Have requested the teachers at infant care to increase the milk intake from 120ml to 150ml. Schuyler had 4 times of milk at infant care and he's able to finish 150ml every time! This means I should have made the request some time ago.
